BRI Awarded Willoughby Council Security Contract

1 February 2008
After a six month qualifying tender period and intense competition, BRI was awarded the security patrols contract on behalf of Willoughby Council.

The Council, whilst relatively small in terms of local government area (LGA), represents high density residential, retail and commercial usage. Chatswood is located in the centre of the LGA and is a major commercial regional centre within Sydney. The LGA consists of multi-million dollar waterfront property, high rise apartment living, significant commercial centre, extensive shopping centre as well as parks and gardens, community centres and facilities.
"This new contract represents the fifth Council we provide security and risk management services for. The others include City of Sydney, Fairfield City, Rockdale City and Sutherland Shire Council" said BRI Managing Director Mytch Jeffrey.
"We have always enjoyed a long term association with Councils, dating back to 1996 and since that time we have built up a very good understanding of their needs and expectations to the degree that we have maintained associations since that time"
This new project involves two dedicated vehicles on the road, combination of vehicular and foot patrols, incident response as well as providing a high level of community support and service.
"I know a lot of companies went for this tender. The field was short-listed to four and after face to face presentations, I am pleased that we were able to demonstrate our commitment, experience and value-add" Mytch said.
The contract commenced on 01 February 2008 after the company successfully conducted site reviews, risk assessments and staff undertook familiarisation training.
"The contract is being managed by Michael Crawford one of our experienced Account Managers. Michael is well suited due to his previous security management experience and former policing background. Michael in particular is in charge of our other major mobile patrol operations throughout Sydney. I am confident that through Michael's management and our staff performance, we will continue to surpass Council's expectations" said Mytch.
